I have had a passion for photography since an early age and have studied the subject since college. I studied a degree in photography at Southampton Solent University and have since pursued my own art projects as well as work for others alongside my full time job. Work as part of the Bottle Collective culminated in a show at the Quay Arts Gallery on the Isle of Wight in Autumn 2009 and I have been working on further projects commissioned by individuals . This site shows a small selection of work from my art projects and travel photography.
My work has covered a range of themes and ideas, most recently being concerned with ideas of contemplation and the passage of time. I am also fascinated by the small details of life, the objects people own and the traces which they leave behind. Most of my images come from photographing scenes and details which I find in day to day life and which can make the viewer stop to contemplate their meaning and significance.
The majority of my art projects are photographed using a medium format camera and are then hand printed, the travel photography and other work is mainly digital.
